EM provides assistance to achieve sustainable development through comprehensive roadmaps and action plans in any activity that uses resources to achieve sustainability. We go by the concept of meeting the needs of today without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We encourage individuals to share their knowledge, accept responsibility and improve their quality of life. We encourage value creation for enterprise development while recognising their dependencies.
Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Best Practices
We identified best practices for small and medium hotels for the development of Environmental Management Services (EMS) principles for sustainable tourism and coastal zone protection. A Best Practices Manual, together with an Implementation Guide based on a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) principle, has been prepared to enable the implementation of EMS best practices. It offers tips for sustainable use of resources and complementary follow-up forms and tables for implementation support.
Promoting Green Entrepreneurship
We have blended our sustainable development initiatives and the entrepreneurship development to support responsible, viable and sustainable ventures. We facilitate the implementation of methods that do not destabilise the environment or find ways to compensate to reduce the impact on the environment.
Empowering for Sustainable Tourism
We train tourist guides, hotel staff and other front-liners of the industry, to increase their capacity to communicate and interact with tourists and the public in general concerning environmental aspects. We have focussed on 3 key themes identified as the most priority areas:
- Impacts of Pollution and Degradations on coastal ecosystems
- Conservation of Fauna & Flora
- Dolphin Watching
